Report
A quite incredible final day of snooker with 30 players battling it out for the Eamonn Duff Consolation Championship whilst the main comp reached the semifinals and final stage.
In the main comp Jessica Woods went back to back to defend her title with an amazing 3-1 victory against young Xavier Daw who was on form and playing well.
And Jessica Woods won it in style in front of a large audience with an absolutely superb 87 break and missed out on a possible 109 clearance when she jawed the brown. What a way to win it and big congratulations to her. I’m sure Xavier will be back and he looks a future winner.
In the Consolation final it was Jimmy Thomson who cleared blue, pink and black to scrape home 2-1 against Nathan Cox. It looked like Nathan would win after coming back from losing the first frame but an in-off on the blue gave Jimmy his chance which he took.
Many thanks to all the helpers, referees and committee for running a hugely successful tournament. It was a pleasure for me to be Tournament Director and looking forward to doing it all again in 2020.
